One question that filled my mind when I was young was why there is grass. It was not easy for a young boy to pull out the grass and weeds from the home garden. When you plant something, you have to tend and care for it otherwise the plant might die. But the grass grows on its own. And as if to spite me, the grass grows greener despite the threat of extinction from me.
The first benefit of the universe from the grass is that it serves as fodder for animals. Cattle and goats feed on grass and that’s the main scenery of a ranch, the green grass. Dried grass that are left on the ground becomes fertilizer. But the grass itself that grows on the ground gives the soil the nutrients that make it fertilized. Recently I had read that some kinds of grass have curative properties. So grass is beneficial after all.
