In this home I must be the memory keeper. Alzheimer is chipping away at my husband and my brother has such pain much concentration is lost. The really sad part is that I don’t have a great memory. I have to write everything down. So did a little research and this is what I learned about improving memory.
I was surprised that that in every thing I read getting enough sleep was in the top three. I have a sleep disorder, so my sleep is different. I assume I get enough because it is consistent, I might be wrong. It is never more than three hours at a time.
Saying things aloud apparently cements them in your memory. I don’t know if I saying the “right” things aloud. Today I was alone screaming in the car and for the life of me I cannot remember why.
Meditate was listed a lot. I am putting that on my learn how list.
Laughing is good for your memory? Wow, I do that a lot. In fact, I have perfected laughing!
Exercise is good for your memory. Well, I need to do more of that.
So here’s my to do list before I go to bed tonight.
1. Take a walk (exercise)
2. Read directions on how to meditate.
3. Say the 10 most important things I have to accomplish tomorrow out loud.
It is not a perfect plan, and yet it’s a plan. I wonder if anyone here will “REMEMBER” to ask me how it went.
