In my house we calling calming down “finding our space”. I don’t know how it got started, but it stuck. So we have been experimenting with different ways to find our space and it’s been interesting. Here are some of the things we’ve experimented with. One thing is certain, the same thing doesn’t work for everyone in our home.
1. Identify what is bugging you. Is it a worry or a fact? If it is just a worry, you can’t solve it. Let it go. If it is a fact solve what you can and let it go.
2. What you focus on grows. Choose what you focus on wisely. If you focus on how much you know it will be easy to learn more. If you focus on your lack of knowledge it grows. So when you are feeling stressed or out of sorts, check your focus.
3. A decade from now what will be important. What actions that you make today truly make a difference tomorrow. Give you attention to that and pull away from drama.
4. Stop. Just stop and remember that right where you are now it probably the best scenario “right now” and deal with it head on.
