There was a time when the government had a green revolution project. It is to educate people on the proper ways of planting not only vegetables but also fruit trees and other edibles. But since it was a political tool so the next administrations wouldn’t touch on the subject matter even if it is a good one.
For my part I always encourage people to plant fruit trees and vegetables. In fact I have some planting materials that I give them. For those who have a small space at home you can have your own pocket garden.
