Dips and chips

I like chips dipped in ketchup and other types of sauces.  The French Fries always come with ketchup placed in a container on hotel tables. 

I had one such experience in the US when friends took me to a Mall and they treated me to high tea. We ordered French Fries among other items and the waiter I saw picked the ketchup container from another table that was just vacated. 

I was expecting individual dips for each of us.  Leave alone individual dips we were expected to share one and that too what was left by those who had occupied that table that was now empty. 

Being a guest I did not comment but made a mental note of how disgusting it was to use that ketchup   I did not have French Fries at that table.
