I am aware of four different types of earses (other than the normal type) and I will explain them now, using my own naming convention, because I don’t know the Japanese terms for any of them…
DIY Earses: Basically any hairstyle that looks like ears
Prosthetic Earses: Any fake pair of ears, usually but not necessarily attached to a headband
Mecha Earses: Technologically enhanced ears of any sort, generally featuring a glowing surface
Compound Earses: By far the most confusing; beast ears in addition to regular human ears
