Every household had copper vessels, in the good old days. Mother had loads of them. The round shaped ones were used to draw water from the well.
When my husband’s ancestral house was sold. We got quite a few of them and I placed them in the hall – no longer as a utility but as antiques. Maintaining them however was an ordeal as they needed polishing every now and then. Most reluctantly we sold them but I now regret that action.
Storing water in copper vessels enhances its health properties.
