I have yet to taste the wine made from the Bignay fruit. In the picture is the cluster of the berry called Bignay that is sour. It can be eaten like a fruit but it is sour and can have a bad effect if you have gastritis. They say the wine is good and it has curative properties.
It is nice to see exotic fruits that are not common and you wouldn’t see in the market. The bignay fruit was common when I was young but the orchards have been converted to residential villages so now the fruit is considered exotic.
