Russian language is an East Slavic language and an official language in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and many minor or unrecognized territories. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, and to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the Soviet Union.

According to the 2015 survey, it has over 275 million speakers around the world making it the 7th most used language worldwide.

Babushka, mammoth, beluga, czar, vodka, etc. are the words derived from Russian registered in an English dictionary.
