Squash (11/13)

Once again, squashes, which include pumpkins and cucumbers, aren’t native to the US. They are gourds that came from South America, primarily near and in the Andes Mountains. Despite this, the US is one of the leaders for commercial squash production, producing many millions of pounds of squash. California leads the US in squash production.
