It’s the canine version of the Voight-Kampff test. Forgive me if the concept seems a bit crass, but the piece does put forward a serious question; certainly we would expect an implanted dog to still desire to mark its territory but would a true machine intelligence have desires and preferences as well?
Some dogs don’t like other dogs, so why do we assume that all AI are going to get along?
