Chicago's Nativity Scene (3/5)

Chicago Nativity Scene 2011 (2010-12-10 12-32-36a)

I have to laugh at this scene. It’s a close-up of Mary and Jesus. The reason I find it funny is that Mary, approaching the end of nine months of pregnancy, has just had a three day ride on the back of a donkey and given birth in a stable. 

I’m guessing that here clothing would not be so fancy or, for that matter, clean. Also, even though I detest political correctness, I’d really like to see the Holy Family portrayed with a skin tone that is more in keeping with the Middle East.
