While in Peterborough, Canada we had to visit the Canadian Canoe Museum there. Here were hundreds of famous stored wooden and other canoes including Gordon Lightfoot’s canoe. There were many famous wooden canoe builders here including Peterborough Canoes, Lakefield, Walter Walker, English and others. This museum fit very well with the WCHA (Wooden Canoe Heritage Association) meeting locally. Here is a very early photo of the Peterborough Canoe company and builders.
