Near the tiny chapel at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland the trail leads you to the Grotto Cave. Here in the side of the mountain was a cave dug out and filled with candles and worshippers. It was a serene and reverent place where people stayed quiet and silently said prayers. I was very curious to go look inside, but had to wait until everyone was gone.
