Denver Art Museum

In celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary, we went for a “staycation” in downtown Denver in the midst of the museum district. While I took tons of pictures, it may take me a while to sort through them all. Below, I’ve included a few pictures of the Denver Art Museum and the surrounding area.

Hamilton Building

Designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, the titanium covered Frederic C. Hamilton building creates a striking image all on it's own.

Big Sweep

The "Big Sweep" sculpture created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen provides a not so subtle reminder to keep the area outside the museum clean.

Cow and Calf

The "Scottish Angus Cow and Calf" sculptures created by artist Dan Ostermiller harken back to Colorado's rural history.

Titanium Peaks

Denver Monoliths

Created by sculptor Beverly Pepper, the Denver Monoliths look like ancient ruins when compared to the buildings nearby.
