While visiting my daughter that lives in Maine, we decided to drive up and see Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. What rugged rocks, shorelines and beautiful scenery they have there. We stopped in Bar Harbor to take a bus tour of Acadia National Park and the tide was low there and we quickly found out why they call it “Bar Harbor”. Lots of people were walking down to the shoreline and to a huge beach or bar of sand that went from the main island to a smaller island. At low tide the huge sand bar is exposed and you can walk to the island and see lots of tidal pools full of sea life and sea urchins. At high tide the sea moves in and covers the bar or connection completely.
Bar harbor is located on Mount Desert Island which you get to by crossing a very large suspension bridge.
Thats Awesome Post…!
