A nineteen year old chap in Lagos went to an Internet Cafe. He downloaded a photo of an American male model called Scott Grant and used that as his image on a dating site.
He claimed to be a Peace Corp worker, (which explained the address).
Lots of women fell in love with him.
He asked them to marry him, said he’d fly over next month.
Then, he’d tell his ‘intended’ that he had to spend every cent of his money to get an operation for some little kid who would have died.
His intended would offer to buy him a ticket and he would tell her to send the money to him because he could get a flight cheaper.
So women sent him the money, he claimed to buy a ticket, and of course, he never showed up.
