NBA Draft 2017 Review: Brooklyn Nets

22. Jarrett Allen – C – Texas.  6’10”, 235 lbs. (13.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.5 bpg).

57. Aleksandr Vezenkov – PF – FC Barcelona Lassa (Spain).  6’9″, 225 lbs. (9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 38% 3pt).

Since the Nets traded away Brook Lopez to the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn had to address the center position by drafting Allen.  His athleticism will help the Nets become a better defensive team down the middle because of his rebounding and his shot-blocking abilities.  He will have to continue to develop his strength so that he can become a solid offensive player.

Taking a flyer towards the end of the draft on Vezenkov is not bad at all.  He is a stretch-4 that can shoot from range.

Grade:  C.
