After only a little over two months in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Khazmat Chimaev has already made a name for himself. He stepped in to fight on short notice in his first UFC fight 66 days ago and secured a first-round TKO. He then fought two weeks later and won again via first-round TKO.
Yesterday evening at the APEX Center in Las Vegas, he was able to top his other two appearances by knocking out Gerald Meerschaert with 4:44 remaining in the first round of their middleweight (185 lbs) fight. The first punch Chimaev hit Meerschaert with dropped Meerschaert to the canvas.
Khazmat Chimaev can now call himself the ‘One Punch Man’ after that KO. He is already looking to fight next month at welterweight (170 lbs) as he looks to secure big fights in both divisions in the future.
