This one play could determine the race to play for European cups next season. Watford lost 1-0 in a crucial match to Arsenal at home. The way that the goal was scored in the 10th minute was extremely heartbreaking if you are a Watford fan. In the tenth minute, Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang pressured the defender to send the ball back to Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster so that Foster would be able to clear the ball out of the scoring zone.
Instead of heading back up field to wait for the kick, Aubameyang went straight towards Foster. Foster nonchalantly was taking his time to kick the ball out of the area. When Foster kicked the ball, the ball ricocheted off of Aubameyang’s leg and went into the net for the only goal of the game.
You could see the disappointment on the face of Foster because Watford is now one point away from looking to play in the Europa League next season with one month to go in the Premier League season. However, for Arsenal, that extra effort by Aubameyang has put Arsenal in fourth place, which would allow for them to be back in the Champions League next season.
