If you are a homer, then you would have liked the quadrupleheader the Belarus Premier League displayed yesterday. Three of the four home teams won, and the other match was a 0-0 draw. Who would have thought that there would be a home-field advantage even when the fans are social distancing?
Isloch won the first match of the day with a 2-1 victory over FC Slavia Mozyr. The first half was boring, but the second half picked up because all of the goals were scored after intermission. Slavia sort of got jobbed because Isloch scored their first goal off of a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. The problem was that the Isloch player was not even touched, but he fell down and was awarded a penalty kick.
Ruh Brest won the second match of the day with a 1-0 victory over FC Minsk. The goal was scored by Pavel Sedko in the 79th minute. I did not add the video for this match because the only recordings were for the entire match that are one and a half hours long. Nevertheless, 311 people were in attendance to see the shutout.
Vitebsk won the third match 1-0 over Dinamo Brest. Vitebsk won on a penalty kick in the 87th minute after Dinamo Brest suffered 2 red cards. Vitebsk jumps all the way up to second place in the Belarus Premier League.
BATE Borisov and Torpedo BelAZ (FC Torpedo Zhodino) played to a scoreless draw in the last match of the day. I am not putting the video up because nobody scored. Nevertheless, this Belarus powerhouse match brought the most people out of quarantine with 621 fans in attendance.
