Re poppy. 

For the inhabitants of ancient Egypt, the poppy was a symbol of youth, female beauty and charm. 

In Persian culture, the poppy is a symbol of happiness, eternal love, joy, and wild flowers hint at the desire for intimacy. 

Nowadays, it is believed that red poppies grow on battlefields. They symbolize the blood of dead soldiers.
