We are walking along the trails of the Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) at Paul Smiths College in the Adirondacks. There are so many types of trees, rocks and water features to see. On many parts of the trails the ground is damp enough to grow ferns, moss and lots of varieties of mushrooms. This was a particularly bright colored mushroom:

Mushrooms are so pretty and so varied. It’s no wonder writers use them a lot in fantasy stories.
