Muriwai Gannet

There is a Gannet Colony at Muriwai Beach West Auckland. You can walk through a path from Muriwai beach or you can drive to Maori Bay on the other side of Muriwai and enter the Gannet Colony from there.

The Gannets are cordoned off, to protect these birds and their young ones from people. Also the cliff face is very steep and dangerous. Too easy for people to slide off to their deaths.

It’s a beautiful sight and free to visit
