Mexico looks to ban GMO soybeans

Yesterday, Mexico’s Federal Court of Administrative Justice has officially revoked a GMO (genetically modified) soybean permit which means that farmers are not allowed to plant any GMO soybean seeds manufactured by Monsanto in all seven of the United States of Mexico.

The reason behind the ban is to protect ancient Mayan tribal sites.  The pesticides and the genetic modification has destroyed different artifacts that are integral to Mexican culture.  Preserving history and the environment are seen as top priorities for the country of Mexico.
