One of the greatest features of Congaree National Park in South Carolina is the wonderful long boardwalk. It goes for miles but is crucial to be able to get out over the flooded forest and see the huge trees that are growing there untouched for hundreds of years. Here is a giant Cypress tree that is probably 6 feet across at the base. There were many more even larger with their knees sticking up through the water.
Magnificent trees. Wow is all I can say.
They’re really tall, do they know how old they are?
