As we deal with the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we must all make an effort to acquire the correct information.  A good link would be the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) website.  The guide shows what you need to know about Covid-19.

Here is question #7.

How can I protect myself from the coronavirus?

During times of crisis, self-survival should become your primary focus.  Here is how you can protect yourself.

1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.  We all know to stay away from people who are sick.  However, there are always some random people that defy logic.  There are people that are out in public that have the coronavirus, but choose to work so that food stays on the table.  There are also people that are out in public that have the coronavirus that are looking to deliberately spread the coronavirus to everyone else.  Staying at home prevents you from running into these random people.

2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.  This one is pretty tough to do because we all have a habit of touching our face.  Statistics show that a person touches his or her face anywhere from 15 to 23 times per hour.  To minimize the chances, wash your hands before knowingly touching your face because there are people out here that are purposely looking to spread the coronavirus by licking items at stores.  An example of this incident happened yesterday in Missouri.

3. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  Use an alcohol-based sanitizer that obtains at least 60% alcohol.  Washing and sanitizing hands kills germs that are on your hands when you touch things.
