Common chaffinch.
Small and beautiful bird of prey. Sometimes it is grown as a decorative bird.
It’s as big as a sparrow.
During the breeding season the head of the male is tricolor – the forehead is black, the crown and the nape are gray, the cheeks are copper brown.
The female has lighter tones in the plumage (on the picture).
Young individuals look like female, but their plumage is fluffy.
It feeds on insects, small seeds and leaf buds.
It is spread in Europe, Northwest Africa and Western Siberia.
