The photo was taken at the Beck Lake Forest Preserve, Glenview, Illinois (Cook County).
If you can’t have a blue sky with big, puffy clouds, dark, ominous clouds that make you think it’s a good time to start repenting are the next best thing. They were dark in the original but got a little help from the editing process. Luminar’s Image Radiance filter adds to the mysteriousness.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera to take the photo and Luminar 2018 to edit it. I straightened the image and used RAW Develop to lower the highlights, shadows, whites and blacks and raise the clarity. I also added the Accent-AI filter and used the HSL filter to increase the luminance of the greens. Lastly I applied the Image Radiance filter and fine tuned it with the various adjustments.
