Every April the Chicago Herpetological Society hold a show of reptiles and amphibians which they call ReptileFest. I haven’t been able to attend the past few years but I was there in 2013 and got photos of some of the alligators and crocodiles on display. Here are three of them. Keep in mind that these guys are someone’s pets.
All of the photos were taken with a Panasonic DMC-FZ50 camera. All of the shots were hand-held because the show draws such a big crowd that using a tripod would be impossible.
Wonderful images. They are fascinating to look at, but wouldn’t want to get too close to them! 🙂
These were pets so they were pretty used to people. They also weren’t full grown.
We had alligators in a muddy pond growing up. And yes, we swam with the alligators!
But you learned how to swim fast.
Absolutely I did! Cannot believe I did that.
