4.13.20 Virtual Hike

Monday, 4.13.20

I didn’t know where to walk for my virtual hike. I’m tired of walking in my neighborhood. And, it is too cloudy outside that I didn’t feel like riding my bicycle. So, I decided to walk to UCI, which is across the street from the UTC. It was the same ghost town feeling, but with few straddlers walking by, probably to order takeout. There was also a long line by Trader Joes. Therefore, while they push “death,” I will push life with the vibrant colors of flowers and greenery of nature.

UCI’s statue says it all…

…surrounded by a colorful rose garden…It reminds me of a novel I read in high school, “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.” I later watched the movie, based on this novel. It was OK, but the book was better.

I saw a few locked-up Huffys on my walk, but I wasn’t sure where these people went because everything was closed.

UTC area…

Trader Joes’ waiting line…

I ran into some cyclists and skateboarders…

But I decided to focus more on the plants because their vibrant colors gave off LIFE….

…reminding us to continue living…

…in whatever way or manner…

I remember my mother had Bird of Paradise in her front yard.

…even the succulents are thriving…
