Hasankeyf is a town (village) on the bank of the Tigris River, Turkey.
This ancient (archeological rich) city dates back 12,000 years and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Of perennial struggle of citizens and the international community unfortunately did not bear fruit. Construction of the dam to start soon and therefore the residents were given a deadline of eviction to 8 October 2019. The construction of the dam the whole village will be submerged.
It looks like a nice town to visit especially with the flea market.
