That Friday was one of the best days of my life.
Julie took charge of my moving. She got everything organised, and I took her out to dinner at a decent place as a reward.
We had a little wine, a little dessert, then walked back to the flat
.”Julie, I owe you…if it wasn’t for you, I’d be sleeping on a mattress in the middle of the room!”
“Oh, Nick, you aren’t that bad.”
“Yes I am. I’m so glad I’m going to open that door and see a home, not a disaster area.”
“You’ll turn it into disaster area in a week, I have faith.”
“Hey! I’m not that bad.”
“Yes you are…”
“Anyway, thanks again, I’m going in, I am exhausted.”
“See you tomorrow. Hey! Let me make us dinner.” she offered.
“Oh that would be great!” I smiled, restrained myself from a hug, and went up the stairs, and into my new home.
