Father’s Day was also Free Residents Day for Maine State parks, so we went to visit Fort Knox and Lake St George State Park. Can’t beat free! I had never been to Fort Knox, as it’s way on the other side of my county and my parents weren’t really keen on anything that had to be paid for.
It was fun, though there was a crapton of walking – got my walking in for the week, I swear. But I made it and even took a few pictures. Of course, my legs still feel like jelly from it, but I know that it made me stronger. It was almost cold in the fort, and very dark – there are no lights, you need to bring a flashlight or something. We only had cellphone lights and a headlamp due to bad planning, but we all had fun.
