Keep Fear Alive

In 2010, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert staged the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear”. Held on October 30th in Washington D.C., the purpose of the rally was to help promote “reasoned discussion” in United States politics. Well, it’s 2018 now, and we can see how well that turned out. Here’s a video that I created in support of the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear”. As you peruse the lyrics below, keep in mind that the Daily Show and The Colbert Report could be rather sarcastic at times.

Keep fear alive, or bears’ll come and rip off your hide. Keep fear alive, as Muslim vampires prepare to bite. Keep fear alive, or spiders will tear out your eyes. Keep fear alive, as global floods begin to rise.

Congress thinks Colbert’s a joke while trillions of dollars go up in smoke. Re-election is their cause who cares about passing laws. Those out of work, they will praise, before they vote themselves a raise. Self-sacrifice is the key unless it’s supposed to come from me.

Keep fear alive, for when the sun explodes you will die. Keep fear alive, cause immigrants are really spies. Keep fear alive, for in the shadows it resides. Keep fear alive, cause on the 30th we will rise.

Fat cats,whine and whine, while eating caviar and wine. Bailouts lift the rich while others are sleeping in a ditch. Stimulus is a code for pet projects they’ll unload. Compromise is the key unless it’s supposed to start with me.
