Football stadium “Al Janoub” was built for the FIFA World Cup 2022. It is located 20km south of Doha in Al Wakrah. Designed by the firm Zaha Hadid Architects in cooperation with AECOM. Stadium capacity is 40,000 seats. After the championship the number of seats will be reduced by 20,000 and the stadium will become home club Al Wakrah, and the surface of the stadium will be significantly reduced due to modular construction elements.
