Sometimes I wonder..

If people are afraid of having real conversations about things that really matter.  My Dad was always telling us that we need to cultivate conversations with those who had different views than the ones we hold dear. I don’t think I really understood what he meant until much later in life.

How do I know what I believe and what my strengths and weaknesses are if I only communicate with those who agree with me and feel the same way? Can learning truly take place in an environment like that?

Sometimes I wish there were some serious conversations right here, about things that really matter. I don’t see a lot of that, but I think it would be truly interesting if we could learn from each other and make a difference in someone’s life every day.

It could be that it happens with some people here every day and I am just not a part of it. Perhaps I live on the other side of the fence.

I guess it matters not. It is what it is.

  1. I’m so passionate about my own beliefs I could spend hours and hours arguing, then more hours thinking of what I should have said. The usual, I guess many people can relate. ?
