The more comfortable a suburban housing, the better you rest in it and refresh yourself – you will not be disappointed with it. And, of course, the most appropriate interior style for creating a comfort in a country house is a country style.
The country has appeared in the Wild West but has become especially popular in Europe. This interior style is very versatile – after all, each country has added to its own motifs the style. In spite of a different kind of country-style housing in every European country, there are also common features that distinguish this interior from others.
Only natural materials are used in the country style home, the finish is rough, but at the same time, it is graceful. Natural fabrics are decorated with small flowers or white-blue flowers. Hand-embroidered towels and tablecloths are a particularly valuable decor detail, as well as covers and wicked rugs taken off the grandmother’s chests.
The furniture should be roughly worked, but solid and necessarily of natural wood or wood veneer. They can be placed in a carefree manner. The kitchen, dining room and living room can be combined into one space. An important element is an open oven with a chimney or a fireplace to warm the body and soul on a gloomy day.
The French Provencal style has a rich color palette. The style radiates ancient charm and restraint. Some houses did not have a wall finish – they sought to reveal the natural beauty of gemstone stones, elsewhere the walls were plastered and bleached once a year, or with the lime-based paint painted in green, yellow, and blue. The lower part of the walls was often painted darker to hide the signs of everyday life.
The floor in the interior of the Provence is usually covered with terracotta tiles. In ancient times, they were quadrilateral, and hexagons were widely used in the last 200 years. Nowadays many colored cement tiles are also popular. They are especially suitable for highlighting a certain location of the room, for example, you can make an “island” for a dining table.
Traditionally, Provence furniture is made of walnut. They can be polished to a gloss or painted in light colors, such as blue or green, as well as doors. Upholstery fabrics are bright colors. To create a modern Provence in your home, choose a neutral color of linen or cotton and combine them with more colorful patterns.
There will not be a spirit of the Provence at home without a Mediterranean dishes. The traditional colors of Provence ceramics are ocher, with a variety of green tones but they can also be blue, red, brown. In addition, dishes can decorate not only a table – some antique dishes could decorate the dining wall, and the most beautiful plate should hang over the door, where you can constantly see it.
The Italian Tuscan interior is recognizable from a dark, framed, sophisticated but cold furnishings. The wooden furniture – oak, walnut, cherry – is waxed, its natural color is darkened from time and use. Unfinished stone walls and terracotta floor tiles also feature this interior.
The Austrian-Switzerland country-style houses stand apart from other with solid, monumental architecture, in strict, rigid forms. The main colors are gray, white and black of varying intensity.
The Swedish country style is also called the simple. It is characterized by simple, restrained shapes without any intricate extras. there are used whitish colors, favorite are yellow and blue combinations.
A real English country style – compact and comfortable. Patterned textiles (vertical stripes or small flowers) obviously expand the space of small rooms. Necessary attributes: an abundance of country details, various statuettes, and other items.
If the home-owners of the Oriental Ethnic Style are determined to have something “unnecessary”, it’s usually is a work of art or an expensive family relic. And of course, such things are being placed not to the walls, as is done in the West, but placed in the middle of the room, so that nothing prevents to admire it.
The Oriental Ethnic is now very much loved. Houses of this style should look absolutely ascetic – only the most basic furniture, as little as possible interior details. Colors suppressed: white-colored shades of color, nephrite, and ocher-colored. Room partitions – light bamboo. Everything here must be functional and have its place.
