Irresistible Fun Food: Marshmallows

At one of our holiday celebrations a few years ago, my son invited some friends and one of them brought a jellied cranberry salad.  It was delicious.  It was covered with some“white stuff”.  I didn’t know what it was but it was soft and sweet.  So I asked the nice lady who made the dish.  She casually remarked that it was just melted marshmallows.  I should have known.  LOL.  I searched and found a similar at Spruce Eats, one of my favorite food blogs.

I know marshmallows are nothing more than a sweet puff!  But marshmallows are really fun food. Everybody knows about topping sweet potatoes with marshmallows or putting then in your cup of hot chocolate.  Found a vintage recipe from 1959.  It was lima beans and marshmallows.  I did not save this tweet to share it.  Sorry.  Not what I would do with marshmallows. (O.o)  Isn’t that Igloo cake fabulous?  Twitter was overloaded with recipes that use marshmallows.  I really had to control myself.  LOL.
