A low calorie, low carb Hake-cake

Trying to find low calorie, great tasting recipes out there is difficult. Some food dishes look good but taste terrible, so why not get one that looks good and tastes great.

This Asian inspired easy prep fish cake is so simple and delicious to make. Using freshly sourced Hake as its base it combines the goodness of fresh herbs and sesame seeds.

Finely chop the following ingredients:

One onion, 1/2 cup of coriander, 2-3 large green chillies (depending on spice level), a handful of spring onions and combine together.

Next, add 2 tablespoons of thick soy sauce with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, next add 3 teaspoons of sesame seeds with the above ingredients.

Then dice up 300 grams of fresh Hake (no bones), add this to the herb mixture and mix through thoroughly. Add one egg and 5 tablespoons of fine breadcrumbs and combine.

Create round patties with the mixture and leave to rest for 5 minutes before heating 1/2 cup of oil in a frying pan on low heat.

Cook the patties for 5 – 10 minutes on each side on low heat.

Serve with a drizzle of a sesame sauce ( 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons of thick soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of white vinegar mixed together.
