Avengers Infinity War: My Movie Review (Part 1 of 3)

Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 American film about superheroes produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers and is the sequel to 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. This 19th film in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, and cast an ensemble of star-studded Hollywood actors who also appeared in other stand-alone Marvel superhero movies.

In October 2014, this film was announced to be produced with Russo brothers came on board to direct in April 2015. McFeely and Markus had signed the script for the film by May then, which drew inspiration from Jim Starlin’s 1991 The Infinity Gauntlet comic and Jonathan Hickman’s 2013 Infinity comic.

Marvel shortened the title to Avengers: Infinity War in 2016, until in January 2017 filming began in Fayette County, Georgia at Pinewood Atlanta Studios, with a massive cast consisting mostly of actors who reprised their roles from other previous MCU movies. The production lasted until July 2017, and shooting back-to-back with an untitled direct sequel. Some additional filming took place in Scotland, England, the New York City, and in the Downtown Atlanta area.

The film held its world premiere in Los Angeles, California on April 2013, 2018 and was released in IMAX and 3D all over the United States on April 27, 2018. The currently untitled sequel is set to be released on May 3, 2019.

This movie is one of the most expensive films ever made with an estimated budget range of $316-$400 million, but nevertheless it became the fourth film and the first superhero film to gross over $2 billion worldwide, breaking numerous box office records and also becoming the highest-grossing film of 2018, and as well as the fourth highest-grossing film of all time (next to Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and in Canada and United States.
