Instead of crocheting a square, six corners were used to make the hexagon shape. The double crochet stitch was used. Different colors of yarn show this pattern off real well. Hexagon squares crochet together create a pretty honeycomb pattern. This pattern is good for coasters, table mats, drivers or sewn together to make a blanket.
I love it. I crochet a lot as well.
