Since the Cold War Ended, education has been limited. No need to produce that bright questioning mind, unless the parents have money and power.
Streaming in schools, where one is placed by ability and achievement is gone. Today, the the least intelligent child rules the class. The bored bright child is labled with one of those invented mental maladies and given drugs to dull them.
This process began in the late 70s and blossomed in the 1980s.
The syllabus used in the 50s and 60s in Primary School is of a higher standard than those used in High Schools today.
Parents who have some money are encouraged to send their children to private schools where it seems their education is of a higher standard, when it is not; it is just that classes are smaller and students get more attention.
