Everyone who knows Margaret thinks she is an unbiased, decent lady.
When the only black person in the apartment building received a letter, raising the rent, she went to Margaret. She went to Margaret to learn if she was the only one who received such a letter.
She went to Margaret because she thought Margaret was not racist.
Margaret has learned, through the punishments of others, not to ever reveal her true feelings. No actress in Hollywood could play the role better than Margaret.
Margaret avoids every possible venue where people not of her race will be found. If she is about to enter a shop and sees people of other races, she backs out. If someone asked her why, Margaret would lie and say; ‘I forgot my wallet’.
