Milica Tepic with children in January 1944 in Knešpolje (author Georges Skrigin)

Photo by Milica character with his son on his back, Branko and daughter Dragica, a symbol of suffering in the Second World War and the nation Kozara Kozara, as well as the whole of Yugoslavia. Because of threats Ustasha, 1942, fled with the children from Kozarska Dubica. The house where they lived until the departure into exile was burned and they were moved to the end of the war after Kozari seeking shelter and food aid. On this occasion, in one of beg, near the village Knežica met them Skrigin and made a few photos.

Photography as a witness to the suffering and the struggle for survival is one of the exhibits at the Museum of the Holocaust in Auschwitz.
