Today the great baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky passed away. It is a huge loss for the opera world. Unfortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him but he was one of my favourite opera singers and point of reference. Maybe lots of you never heard his name or his voice so I’d like to share in his memory one of my favourite pieces: “Votre toast, je peux vous le rendre… Toreador, en garde”.
You’ll always be in our hearts, dear Dmitri.
You will be missed.?
