Democracy – 13

Democracies demand involvement of the population.   They demand knowledge, interest and commitment from the public who must be involved.

Where there is a large uneducated population which is focused on personal survival, a democracy will fail.

It will fail and be replaced by some form of dictatorship; whether benevolent or corrupt.

In nations which do not have a long history of democracy it is almost a ‘given’ that they will be swallowed by some kind of dictator.

Here are issues, the people don’t know what to do, some strong man steps up to solve the issues and soon enough he takes on the burden of ruling.

Some dictators will leave the country better than they found it, most won’t.
