Al’s wife had separated from him years ago.
However, Al, knowing how gals like Candy go after married men, kept it quiet. He pretended he was still married and had to ‘sneak’ out to see her. Often, he acted as if he ‘had to get home’, on and on and on.
In fact, once, the wife appeared at a place where he was with Candy and she ran away to hide.
This ‘affair’ went on for years.
It ended when Candy learned that the wife had long ago left Al.
For seven years, Candy had been ‘in love’ with Al, snuck around, never expected him to take her anywhere, didn’t expect money for groceries.
She had stayed with Al because she thought he was married.
