There are times in life when one has to react or not. It is often without thought.
Yet Paula thought.
Seeing a woman flirting with her boyfriend, seeing herr boyfriend going towards that woman, should have had Paula exclaiming. But, before she did, Craig, Connie’s boyfriend returned from the bathroom. He blocked Paula’s view of the counter, of Jack.
As Craig slid in, he called to Jack;
“Yo! You can’t refill my glass?”
Jack seemed to have difficulty in breaking off conversation. Craig got up and went to the counter, calling over his shoulder at the girl’s ; “Either of you want anything?”
Connie and Paula declined.
Jack moved back to the table. He hadn’t refilled his glass.
