Karin’s life was empty. No one was interested in her. She was not outgoing or friendly and had placed so many hurdles one had to jump to get near her, no one felt it was worth the effort.
She went out on her own, tried to meet people, but none lived up to her standards. Most were put off by her rituals and protocols.
With Andy gone she was in an absolute vacuum.
No one at work spoke to her unless they had to, no one sat near her at lunch. All around her people would be talking, laughing, exchanging confidences, and she would be alone.
After work, it was her empty apartment, or a visit to some restaurant or bar where she could enjoy her own company.
She missed Andy, thought about him often.
